Lavender

I'm so fortunate to have a wonderful garden space to look after. Over many years it has gone through a lot of changes.

This year I have had some sucess with harvesting lavender and I am excited to start using the fragrant dried flowers in  the eye pillows and drawer fresheners that I make. I have been taking cuttings and hope to get them through the winter to plant out in the spring.

The workroom has such a lovely scent with all the bunches hanging to dry in every available corner and space. I multi task as I sit at the computer stripping the dried flowers while composing emails and such. It is a task that leaves me calm and relaxed, perfect to combine with working on my website or edting photos

The lavender that I was previously using was from Provence, and I can honestly say that the fragrance from my homegrown flowers is just as strong and delicious.

Silk Eye Pillow

Lavender is so good for easing stress and anxiety, it can help aid a restful night's sleep and generally the perfume can just make you feel better.

In this image habotai 8 silk has been naturally dyed using an eco printing process. The removable cover is soft and smooth and has an inner pillow filled with dried lavender and flax seed, that is just a comfortable weight to sit on your eyes. The pillow can be used warm or chilled and they have such a lovely tactile quality that just handling them and releasing the fragrance is a relaxing pleasure.
